BSA High
Adventure Bases

National Weather Service.
Be weather-wise.
All treks require physical exams, conditioning, skills training, and shakedown trips before arrival at base! Treks are patrol-method (including cooking) trips and are not merit badge camps though some treks may qualify for 50-miler. Many bases provide a Voyageur (staff member) to guide your crew. The age minimum for crew members is usually 13 or 14 years old. Some bases form provisional crews for scouts attending without troop.

National bases (Florida Sea Base, Northern Tier, and Philmont) operate year-round and often have treks fill up a year or more in advance, so in the winter of 2009 you might discover slots full for summer 2010 Florida Sea Base treks!
