The Klondike Derby

By Michael Cicchetti, Troop Historian, February 9, 2007

The district Klondike Derby was held on Feb 9, 2007 at the Lone Pine Hunter’s Club in Hollis, NH.  Approximately 26 patrols from various troops participated.  There were nine various stations that tested the scouts skills and abilities.  This year our troop’s station involved a problem solving theme.  Scouts had to save Yosemite Sam and rescue his gold from a mind.  The problem was you had to go over a four foot wall with a bottomless pit on the over side of the wall.  This was a fun exercise.  Several of our patrols made the top ten this year, but the best thing was the Patriot Patrol (leadership scouts) made first place and won back the Klondike trophy; winning by one point over the second place patrol.!
