Scoutmaster Weekly Update          Feb 21, 2010

 Welcome, new Scouts from Packs 19, 253, and 425 who are joining our troop over the next few weeks.

 

We have rescheduled the Troop Court of Honor and Summer Camp Promotion one more time (from Tuesday, 2/23, school vacation week) to Tuesday, March 9th.  We have attached the award summary, if you have any questions, contact Mr. Rich Filteau , T19 Troop Advancement Chairperson. For the Court of Honor, we are also encouraging families to bring in camping equipment or outdoor clothing that is no longer needed that they would like to either sell or donate to other troop members.  We will have tables set-up and you just need to have a tag on each item on the For Sale table with your name and price.  We will also have a table set-up for free items. 

 

Our New Parent Orientation Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2nd. 

 

Summer Camp Sign Up
   Troop 19 will attend Hidden Valley in Gilmanton Ironworks, NH July 11 through July 17.
   Camp Fees:
    $310.00 - $50.00 deposit paid by 3/9 and balance paid by 5/11
    $320.00 - $50.00 deposit paid AFTER 3/9 and balance paid by 5/11
    $335.00 - Payment after 5/11
   In order to secure the lowest price for camp, deposits should be made by the March 9, Troop meeting.
   Summer camp physicals should be scheduled if you scout's medical form is not current. Please be sure you use the new 2010 medical form

Scout Sunday

Dear Troop 19,

 

Pilgrim Church would like to thank Troop 19 for their generous donation to the Church.  It is very much appreciated.

 

The worship service this past Sunday for Scout Sunday went very well and the scouts did a wonderful job participating.  Also, Coffee Hour was GREAT!  Thanks to all the delicious food the scouts and their family brought.

 

Thank you again for the donation and we here at Pilgrim Church also "look forward to continuing our proud and fruitful relationship" with the Boy Scouts.

BSA Uniform and Proper Insignia Location

We need to be mindful of proper uniform wear with regard to insignia and award being sewn in the proper places.  We have several violations and need to look sharper here.  The troop will have a formal uniform inspection on March 2nd with individual inspection scores to identify the gaps.  We will have a follow-up inspection at the end of March to see how we have improved.  If you are unsure of what goes where or you want to print out an inspection form, go to BSA Official Uniform Inspection Form

 

Wanted: Outgrown Uniforms

If you have outgrown your Scout uniform, please consider recycling it for the troop.  The troop maintains an inventory of uniforms available to all and we take pride in having our Scouts at 100% in uniform for meetings and Special Events.
