This Tuesday night we will plan to spend the first part of the meeting raking and picking up debris around the church. Bring rakes and work gloves. Several boys braved the rain despite the cancellation; Luke Sayers, Nate Bisbee, Billy Sewell, Sam Guertin, and Todd Richardson. Thank you for your good work!
Troop Campout – May 21-23
The permission slip for the troop campout is attached. Permission slips are due no later than the start of the troop meeting on the Tuesday before the campout. You can turn it in earlier if you like. Payment for food should be the Tuesday before the campout to facilitate the cash management by the patrol. Food must be paid for in cash.
The troop will be at Camp Bell which is a part of Hidden Valley Scout Camp in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH. This is a great opportunity for our new Scouts to see the summer camp before they go this later this year. The troop program will include outdoor skills (map/compass/orienteering) and sports. We will also have a Scouts Own Service on Sunday—a few have asked what this is and basically it is an inter-faith service of about 15-20 minutes. Everyone is encouraged to contribute readings, prayers, songs, etc. to this Scout’s Own.
Adult Leader Meeting - Roundtable
Any interested parent or adult leader is invited to attend the district’s volunteer meeting (Arrowhead District Roundtable) on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The next two meetings have some excellent learning opportunities in outdoor skills. The Roundtable meeting begins at 7pm at the LDS Church on Concord Street (next to Greely Park). T19 usually has two or three members attend these meetings and it would be great to get some of our new leaders to go. You get to meet with leaders from other troops. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
