Hike Report from Mt. Cardigan
Troop 19 had a fantastic weekend at Mt. Cardigan with picture perfect weather! We had 18 Scouts and 10 leaders attend. We broke into three hike crews for Saturday and each crew summitted Mt. Cardigan. Mt Cardigan has a variety of trails and exposed ridgelines which made it a fun hike. The Scouts hiked anywhere from 6-10 miles on Saturday. We cooled off afterwards with a hike to Welton Falls for swimming in a cold mountain stream. True to Troop 19 tradition, we had a short (15 minute) rain shower on Sunday morning. This was an excellent first hike for our new Scouts. Special thanks to all the adults that supported this trip. It is not too late to sign-up for one of the White Mountain hikes this summer. Our goal is to be ready for Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons one year from now!
Awards Night and Ice Cream Social – June 29th
Tuesday, June 29th -7pm to 8:30pm. Join us as we recognize our Scouts that have earned awards since our last Court of Honor in March. Please review the attached advancement report and if there is any discrepancy, the scout should speak to or email Mr. Filteau as soon as possible. All paperwork and Boards of Review must be completed by Tuesday, June 22nd for recognition at the Court of Honor. Following the Court of Honor we will have an Ice Cream Social. Our new Scouts will have a Scout Investiture Ceremony—parents please take note and plan to attend.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Everett Woodward on graduation from Merrimack High School. Everett will be attending Johnson and Wales Culinary School in Rhode Island this fall.
