This Tuesday night’s meeting will be focused on a final practice review of knots and lashings. Patrol Leaders are reminded to have their menus ready for approval for the campout this weekend. Lunch is to be prepared based upon the Klondike Derby cooking requirements on either a fire or stove. The troop will be having a troop wide- pasta dinner on Saturday night. With snow in the forecast, this will be a great time for sledding and outdoor fun. We will be practicing some Klondike Derby skills in the morning and setting aside the afternoon for a lot of fun and games. The cabin has heat and lights with bunks. Scouts should bring winter clothing and extras in case their clothes get wet. Ambitious and adventuresome scouts can build a snow shelter to sleep in too!
If the weather necessitates a postponement of tomorrow’s meeting, an email will be sent out by 4pm EST. Scouts can also call their Patrol Leader to double check. Permission slips are due on Tuesday night (weather permitting). Otherwise, we will collect them on Friday night but will require the Scout to notify his Patrol Leader on Tuesday night if he plans to attend. Adults planning to attend should notify Mr. Paulsen for food and transportation logistics.
Be sure to check out the troop website for the latest information on permission slips to the Winter campout, Information to prepare for the Klondike Derby and about the USS Salem Trip
