7:15-7:45 Advancement instruction by rank –ASMs / PLC – April Campout Planning
7:45 -8:15 Hiking Skills
· Identify and explain the “Ten Essentials” for hiking preparedness
· Know what is appropriate for footwear
· Understand the concept of moisture wicking clothing
· Explain how to hike comfortably without tiring
· Know how to prevent blisters and how to treat them
· Understand the basics of trail hiking (pace/hydration/trail etiquette/conserving energy)

There are some very good courses being offered by dedicated and experienced Scouters at the University of Scouting. I will be in attendance and would like to see more of us attend. Everyone benefits from sharing knowledge and ideas with other Scouters.
