The University of Scouting this past Saturday was very informative and was met with a lot of enthusiasm from our leaders that attended.  Attendees included Brent Morrison, Garry Crane, George Griffith and Greg Anthony.  Also in attendance was Bob Leuci from Pack 19.  Bob also signed up to take the council’s Wood Badge training course this fall.  It would be great to have some more leaders take this advanced training.  Jack Webb from Derry is the course Director and knowing him, you won’t be disappointed.

This Saturday to Sunday is the troop’s annual YMCA Lock-in.  Permission slips and payment is due on at the troop meeting.  As with any activity, scouts are reminded to be current in dues to participate in the event. 

The troop campout later this month will include a hike to the summit of Mt. Monadnock.  Our troop campsite is at the Boy Scout camp (Camp Wanocksett) at the base of the mountain.  For safety and comfort, you will need hiking boots –if you have not checked your boots for fit recently, now is the time and if you need to purchase new ones, break them in by wearing them several times before the hike.
